This shop section is named for the Titan goddess of light who was responsible for giving stones and precious metals their shine and intrinsic value. Each piece in this section is made by hand using traditional smithing techniques. No two pieces will ever be exactly alike
Based on French woodcut illustrations of the tarot, this shadowbox pendant shows the La Morte card, or death card, number 13 in the deck
A small cast sterling skeleton holds a tiny hand fabricated scythe as he walks along a ground strewn with bones and body parts. Set in a a sort of shadowbox style framed pendant.
The death card in tarot while it seems ominous is typically not read literally. In fact the card can be read as a fresh start. Death stands with his scythe on a freshly cleared (and fertilized!) ground ready to be sewn anew. Life is full of beginnings and endings, often an ending is necessary before one can move forward into a new phase. It is these types of endings this card typically represents. A profound change involving leaving old aspects of your life behind which don’t serve you on the road ahead. While this can be difficult and emotional, it is by no means inherently negative.
This piece is large, measuring 2 inches long without the bail. Because of all the small arms and weapons and things I would advise caution wearing with delicate knits. On a hefty 22 inch solid sterling chain with a lobster clasp
This is a one of a kind item and the actual piece you will receive
