This shop section is named for the Titan goddess of light who was responsible for giving stones and precious metals their shine and intrinsic value. Each piece is made by hand using traditional smithing techniques. No two pieces are exactly alike.

A hefty solid sterling silver figa hand cast from my personal figa. On a 20 inch silver plated chain with option to upgrade to solid sterling oxidized rolo chain. (Shown in last photo)

Figo hands, also called Mano figos or Mano Ficos depending on region and language are an ancient symbol with meaning that varies as much as their name.
The symbol is a closed fist with the thumb sticking between the middle and forefinger, the same hand gesture used in the game “I’ve got your nose!” It also resembles a certain part of the female anatomy. In some cultures (Turkey and Russia) this is interpreted as being wildly offensive and basically the equivalent of giving someone the middle finger.
In other cultures (like Portugal and Brazil) it’s seen as a protective talisman, or a good luck amulet. Perhaps because it’s so obscene that it actually scares off “evil” or because there is evil warding power in femininity.
